With Spread the Hay, our mission is to collaborate with trusted organizations in our community to find the missing links and gaps around us to reach those who need it most.

For the last six years we've served people all throughout Pitt County and the surrounding areas in their search to find home. Along the way, we realized our mission stretches beyond housing. Our hearts want to go further in meeting the tangible and varied needs of our larger community.

That’s why we launched Spread the Hay funded by a portion of every Haystack agent commission. We serve individuals who are both in need and seeking support, and we strive to partner with parents, teachers, social workers, and nonprofits across Eastern NC to ensure the most underserved in our community are truly cared for.

Instead of giving handouts, we want to give people a hand up so they have the resources they need to live well.
